Creating and Editing Form Templates
AI Insurance provides a powerful forms editor in which you can easily create, edit, or import your pre-existing policy form templates and add Smart Tags to automatically propagate your forms with information about your insureds or policies. Our forms editor includes familiar word processing features, so that you can modify your forms as needed in a single place.
How to Access the Forms Editor
First, click on your company name from within the user interface. This takes you to company-level settings.
Next, Click on forms per the image below. You are presented with a list of all your currently available forms and a button that allows you to create a new form.
Certificate of Insurance (Auto-generated)
If this is your first time accessing Forms Templates, you’ll notice a form already exists. This is an automatically generated Certificate of Insurance that’s fully customizable to meet your needs. You’re welcome to click into the document to get a better idea of how forms can work.
Creating a New Form
From within the forms editor, click on “Create New Form” and you’ll be presented with a forms editor that should look familiar to tooling that you already use. From here, you can either begin typing to create a new form or you can import a pre-existing form template from your system.
Important Notes:
When importing forms, we only support
.docx
file types for optimum compatibility.We don’t support any macros that take place within the forms.
Adding Smart Tags
AI Insurance comes preloaded with a number of Smart Tags that automatically inject information about your insureds or the policy directly into a form. Common Smart Tags include Schedules of Insureds, Policy Number, Policy Start and End Date, etc… A full list, including examples, is located within our documentation here and inserting them is as easy placing your cursor in the correct place within your form and inserting a smart tag from the menu on the right:
Saving a Form Template
When you’re happy with the way your form looks, the final step is saving this template. In order to do so, you just need to add a Document Name and click the save button!
Editing a Form Template
Editing a form template inside AI Insurance is just as easy as creating. Rather than clicking on “Create New Form” you just select a pre-existing form inside your instance of AI Insurance and can make any changes you see fit.
Testing a Form Template
In order to validate that your form behaves as expected, we recommend quickly creating a policy inside AI Insurance and adding the form to the policy to confirm your preferred results. To do so, just follow these steps:
Step 1: Create a new policy and take note of the smart tags in the below image
Step 2: Add your form template within the “Select Forms” screen and click “Edit or Rename” to review your form form within the Forms Editor
Step 3: Confirm that your form looks as intended
Deleting a Form Template
Removing Form Templates is as easy as selecting the form and hitting the delete button per the image below.
Important Note: Forms cannot be recovered once deleted, so please be cautious when performing this task.
